The Opto Encoder 3 Click is a linear incremental optical sensor/encoder module, ideal for movement or rotation encoding. It features the TCUT1800X01 sensor, equipped with one infrared LED (950nm wavelength) and four phototransistors. These encoders are widely used in applications requiring precise detection of an object's position, speed, or rotational angle, such as automotive optical sensors or motion/speed/direction sensors. Rotary encoders, often found in various controllers or motor shafts, operate on the same principle, incorporating an optical sensor. The Opto Encoder 3 Click offers precise detection of position, speed, and rotational angle, and can detect movement direction due to its two photo-sensing elements. It utilizes a GPIO interface. This M-sized Click board (42.9 x 25.4 mm) operates with an input voltage of 3.3V or 5V.
