The Mikroelektronika MIKROE-2924 MiWi click features the MRF89XAM8A, a compact low-power sub-gigahertz radio transceiver module from Microchip for 868 MHz. The MRF89XAM transceiver circuits offer extremely low reception current (3 mA) for low power consumption, a +10 dBm power amplifier for long range, and a low-noise amplifier for a receiver sensitivity of -113 dBm. The integrated packet manager includes a 64 byte FIFO for transmit and receive buffering, further extending battery life for 868, 915, and 950 MHz sub-GHz wireless networks. The MiWi click assists development with MRF89XAM8A modules and can be connected to various Clicker development panels. It is suitable for developing home/industrial/building automation applications, data loggers, applications for remote keyless access, alarms, wireless remote control, and a wide variety of similar short-range radio applications. Key features include automatic packet handling, CRC generation, a 64 bytes long FIFO buffer, great reception, clock/data recovery, and clock signal synchronization. It uses GPIO and SPI interfaces and operates on a 3.3V input voltage. The click board size is L (57.15 x 25.4 mm).
