Technical description of the product (MCP6SX2DM-PCTLTH):

The Microchip MCP6SX2 PGA Thermistor PICtail Demo Board features the MCP6S22 and MCP6S92 Programmable Gain Amplifiers (PGA). These devices overcome the non-linear response of the on-board NTC thermistor and provide multiplexing between two inputs, allowing for temperature correction of other sensors and increasing available PIC microcontroller I/O pins. Two on-board variable resistors enable design experimentation. DIP switches select resistors in a binary weighted sequence, emulating the series resistor in a voltage divider and the thermistor’s resistance change with temperature. A complete solution integrates with the PICkit 1 Flash Starter Kit (DS40051) and the Signal Analysis PICtail Daughter Board (DS51476), offering a PC software interface, PICmicro microcontroller, firmware programmability, a 10-bit ADC (on the microcontroller), and firmware with re-locatable assembler code.
